KAMPA
As one of the biggest prefab housing manufacturers in Europe, KAMPA has grown quickly in recent years - and the number of construction projects has grown too. Soon, it was no longer possible to organise their project management using Excel, so KAMPA made the switch to Ninox.

KAMPA views energy-efficient construction as standard and has built several hundred houses every year according to the 'Self-Sufficiency Concept'.
Construction Projects Outgrowing Excel
Construction projects are complicated. When you have a hundred of them going in at the same time and in different countries, then the project management involved becomes an even bigger challenge. For a long time, KAMPA used Excel tables but, due to a lack of central storage, complicated data entry, and limited automation, increasing order volumes led to frequently outdated, incorrect, or incomplete information as the system struggled to cope. A more efficient alternative to Excel had to be found: one that was not only able to cope with increasing project volumes, but could also contribute to improving the processes in qualitative terms.
A Central Project Database with Ninox
Ninox had already been used at KAMPA to document construction defects. The company's solid knowledge and experience of the low-code database's performance potential made the decision to have it also cover all project management an easy one. And so KAMPA developed a project database with Ninox in house, which supports all processes, from receipt of contracts to the handover of the house itself. This also included the complex construction site management with precise scheduling, personnel, and material dispositions, as well as problem and status updates. All project participants stay up-to-date at all times. KAMAP relies on Ninox Cloud, with around 200 users from all departments involved currently. In the future, regular suppliers will also be integrated into the system and a test phase with architects is running at the moment.

The Ninox solution for project and site management brought KAMPA a high increase in efficiency. Not only is time saved, but the data is also much more reliable. Thanks to simple, clear forms and the ability to collect and evaluate all the information directly from the site of production, the quality and timeliness of the data has greatly increased. Digitisation? Yes, but according to our own ideas
Innovation requires a willingness to change. At Valeres, it was a site manager who questioned the existing workflows with Excel, Word and paper documents. However, the management did not want a ready-made, inflexible industry software, but an individual, smart solution that could be adapted to the team's well-rehearsed processes and gradually integrated into the daily work routine. The first use case in Ninox was the listing of deficiencies and their elimination, as well as corresponding documentation. Initial skepticism soon gave way to the conviction that they had found the ideal tool for digitalising business processes.
Step by step to the customised solution
Together with Ninox's construction industry-focused external partner called “Digital vereinfacht” a wish list was created as a starting point. At the top: A reliable master data management for customers, partners, projects and employees. Once this was realised to the satisfaction of all involved, task planning, various checklists, cost overviews, deficiency documentation and fleet management gradually followed. Feedback from employees was taken into account at every step. The result was a comprehensive solution that is precisely tailored to Valeres' processes and can be used anywhere, in the office, at home, and with mobile devices even on the construction site. And the knowledge of the possibilities gives rise to new ideas for enhancements every day.

Through Ninox, a coherent workflow has been created, starting from the inquiry and acquisition, to the planning and construction management. Every site manager uses Ninox intuitively, so that every deficiency and every acceptance on the construction site is created in Ninox and the finished report is also generated there. The site manager sits down in his car and from now on does not need to worry about processing a report. Furthermore, the internal e-mail traffic has decreased, because the internal task assignment runs in the developed task management of Ninox. Thus, there is more structure throughout the company and there is no duplication of work.
IBQ
When determining and checking suitable materials in road construction, considerable data is generated that can only be collected directly on the construction site. Either laboriously and prone to error with paper and pen - or efficiently with a tablet and database like Ninox.

As an accredited, certified testing institute recognised under private law in accordance with RAP Stra, the IBQ Institute provides a wide spectrum of services ranging from subsoil consulting and research to optimising processes in road construction. The company employs over 30 people at 3 locations in southern Germany.
Time-consuming data acquisition on construction sites
As part of their work, staff from the IBQ Institute often have to carry out checks and measurements on construction sites. All measurement results, boundary conditions and environmental parameters must be precisely recorded. This data used to be collected on-site with a clipboard and pencil, and photos were often taken for visual documentation. The data's subsequent transfer into Excel spreadsheets or Word documents and the successive assignment of the images cost considerable time and was prone to errors. In addition, the data's preparation and post-processing into a final report also required considerable effort. The IBQ Institute therefore looked for a more efficient solution - and found it with Ninox.
Tablets and database instead of paper and Excel
With the support of the Ninox experts at DV digital vereinfacht GmbH, the IBQ Institute developed an individual solution that was precisely tailored to the company's respective processes. Clipboards and pens have been replaced by tablets, while all data are now digitally recorded directly on-site and stored in the central database. Photos are also taken with iPads and automatically assigned to the relevant project. The project manager can call up the data in real-time on his PC in the office and intervene in the process if necessary. At the push of a button, daily reports with all relevant measurement results and assessments are generated as PDF files in the company layout while still on the construction site. In addition, the Ninox solution also includes functions for managing and organising the projects.
Benefits
With Ninox, the IBQ Institute was able to completely digitalise its main activities as a testing institute, which range from project planning to on-site data acquisition and evaluation. This has reduced the time spent on them by around 50 percent. It has also simultaneously increased the quality of the data because potential sources of error during transmission and post-processing are eliminated. The IBQ Institute was particularly impressed by the simplicity, speed and flexibility of Ninox. The first construction site logs were implemented within a few days. It took just three to four weeks to come up with the final solution, which, in addition to the construction site and measurement logs, also covers voucher entry and travel expense accounting as well as staff and vehicle fleet management. It was important that Ninox was quickly accepted by all employees and only required a short learning curve in order to be able to use it.
